INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY -2019

International Youth Day is observed on 12th August every year. International Youth Day is celebrated as an opportunity for governments and others to draw attention to youth issues, worldwide. In India, demographically youth population is highest and is also vulnerable part of the society, SACS are encouraged to celebrate IYD and encourage young people to participate freely.

The theme for International Youth Day 2019 is “Transforming Education – Be educated about HIV”. International Youth Day was observed in Kerala with various activities as per the guidelines issued by NACO and with other programmes. Besides Kerala SACS, Department of Health, Medical and Nursing colleges, Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, NYK, RRCs, Youth clubs, organizations working in the field of voluntary blood donation etc actively participated in organizing IYD. The State level function was conducted at Mar Ivanios College, Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram on 13.08.2019 from 2.30 PM to 5.00 PM.
